FLAME-RETARDANT ELECTROLYTE SOLUTION AND NONAQUEOUS ELECTROLYTE SECONDARY BATTERY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous secondary battery with flame resistance and excellent negative electrode characteristics.

SOLUTION: A flame retardant with a combination of a specific neopentyl glycol phosphonate compound (I) and a trialkyl phosphate compound (II) is added to the electrolyte solution. The phosphate compound (I) is preferred to be either neopentyl glycol methylphosphonate or neopentyl glycol ethylphosphonate. The phosphate compound (II) is preferred to be trimethylphosphate.
