A plastic material suitable for weaving into wickerwork for furniture etc. can be made by using a wire insert covered with plastic, pref. foamed high mol. wt. polypropylene which contains a small amount of low mol. wt. heptane soluble polypropylene. The material can be made in long sections, can be used as warp or weft and is less damaging to clothing than natural materials such as willow or straw.
