The container has a metal lid, the lower surface of which has a covering of vinyl resin, while the top surface is provided with a cut-in weakening-line, surrounding the tear-off section. The lower surface of the cover has a long strip of blank, non-covered metal, running along the weakening-line on the top surface. Below this strip, a ring of synthetic material is positioned, the edges of which are connected to the edges of the vinyl resin covering. After tearing-off, the ring covers and protects the resulting sharp edges along the weakening line. - The synthetic ring consists of plastisol composed on a PVC base. - The elastic ring on the lower surface of the lid covers the edge after tearing-off. The ring also protects the weakening-line and the surrounding metal against corrosion from the goods in the container.
