Cold pressing of fork-heads

Bifuracted parts, as for instance, used in rams of diesel motors or brake systems, are cold pressed in a single operation without any waste of material, by forcing a cylindrical blank through two dies which are connected by a central bridging piece. Compared with the normal practice of machining these parts from solid bar, production rates are higher and heat treatment of the finished part with attendant risk of distortion is avoided.
