A conveyer for powders, slurries and liquids comprises a rectangular cross-section tube 42, with a discontinuous base wall 40, and an endless belt 46 of a width to cover the openings 96 in the base wall to effect a closed conduct. The belt has side walls 88 and a plurality of nubs 90 to assist the conveyance of the material and is driven at a speed which is greater than the fall back of the material in an inclined portion of the conveyer. The discontinuous base wall 40 may have transverse operatures (98) Fig. 3 (not shown), longitudinal openings 96 or a single central slot (100) Fig. 4 (not shown) traversed by a series of rollers (102). The return run of the conveyer and the drive and guide rollers 64, 76, 78 are enclosed within a deep section trough 24, the upper ends of which are secured to the edges of the base wall 40. A hopper 82, with an adjustable gate 86, feeds the material to the conveyer. |
