A mounting for a sealed beam headlamp H comprises a one-piece plastics housing 12 having a peripheral rim 19 with a radially inwardly extending bead 20 for engaging one side of the lamp mounting flange F and integral spring tabs (21, not shown) for engaging the other side of the flange. The tabs, which are formed by slotting the side wall 12a of the housing, have recesses (22) and load bearing surfaces (23) to co-operate with circumferentially spaced locating lugs (L) and bearing pads (P) respectively on the flange F. Slots 24<SP>1</SP> are also formed in the rim 19 to increase its resiliency. The housing is attached to a bracket 10 on the vehicle body by means of two adjusting screws 28, which engage corresponding mounting flanges 26 spaced 90 degrees apart on the housing, and two springs 33 connected between the bracket and walls 31 located diametrically opposite the flanges. |
