<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing L-amino acids, such as L-lysine or L-glutamic acid, through a fermentation process which is more improved than ever, and to provide strains, such as a coryneform bacterium, capable of being used in the method. <P>SOLUTION: This coryneform bacterium is obtained by introducing a gene which codes succinate dehyrogenase into the coryneform bacterium having ability for producing the L-amino acids, such as the L-lysine or the L-glutamic acid, so that succinate dehyrogenase activity of the bacterium is enhanced. Thus, the bacterium is improved in the ability for producing the L-amino acids. The bacterium is utilized in the method for producing the amino acids. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
