Cylindrical channel sections can telescope together or extend, taper down sharply just short of the rotor at the bottom of the container and then spring out to form a flange below this to force the material crushed out onto the walls of the container for the upward flow. A short cylindrical part of the channel concentric to the rotor with its angled blades is fitted with triangular ribs to ensure axial flow of crush through the rotor, without rotating the material during this.
