EXHAUST GAS CLEANING CATALYST AND METHOD OF PRODUCING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust gas cleaning catalyst which is capable of suppressing sintering of Pt contained as a catalyst component and which exhibits high catalytic performance stably with time.

SOLUTION: The exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is characterized in that Pt is supported on an oxide carrier on which at least one kind selected from Mo, W and Re is supported. Preferably, the oxide carrier contains Al2O3and the 4f orbital electron of the supported Pt has a binding energy of ≥72.5 eV. Preferably, the exhaust gas cleaning catalyst is produced by reductively depositing Pt on the oxide carrier on which at least one kind selected from Mo, W and Re is supported.
