<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multicolor image forming device that eliminates an image density difference between color image formation and monochrome image formation which involves only an image forming station situated furthest upstream. <P>SOLUTION: The multicolor image forming device has a switching means 51 that changes the distance between a developer restricting member 50 and a developing roller 41 in order to adjust an amount of toner carried by the developing roller 41 when a full-color image is formed using the furthest upstream developing unit and when a monochrome image is formed using only the furthest upstream image forming station. The switching means 51 is structured so that the distance between the developer restricting member 50 and the developing roller 41 is changed in a direction in which an amount of toner attached to an electrostatic latent image on a photoreceptor during the full-color image formation is larger that an amount of toner attached to an electrostatic latent image during the monochrome image formation. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
