<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus which realizes high-quality imaging by improving density irregularities, color tone irregularities or the like and restraining generation of black streaks, white streaks or the like. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of light emitting elements are set at a VCSEL 1, so that latent images of a plurality of lines can be formed on an image carrier 5 by one horizontal scanning. Among the light emitting elements set at the VCSEL 1, a part of the elements is utilized as light emitting elements for auxiliary images, and the light emission is controlled by a control unit 7. For example, the light emitting elements for auxiliary images are made to emit light by some degree for a region where the density is low as a whole image, thereby raising the density. The density of the whole can be nearly uniformed accordingly. Moreover, a leading end or a rear end of the plurality of light emitting elements, or both parts are reduced in the emission amount, whereby black streaks at a boundary part of band-shaped regions formed by a plurality of horizontal scannings can be prevented. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
