PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thawing method for efficiently thawing a fuel cell while preventing clogging of a flow path by condensation of steam. SOLUTION: A high-temperature gaseous fluid is caused to flow in a fuel gas flow path, an oxidizing agent gas flow path and a cooling liquid flow path within the fuel cell, thereby thawing ice within the fuel cell to cause the fuel cell to start from a low-temperature state. At the beginning of a starting operation, a gaseous fluid composed of a dried and heated gas containing substantially no water is first caused to flow in the fuel cell, and the amount of water contained in the gaseous fluid is subsequently increased according to the temperature rise of the fuel cell. |
