<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow finely preventing an offset phenomenon without impairing user operability when a size of a used recording paper is changed. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming control means is provided with an end offset avoiding mode and a performance prioritizing mode. In the end offset avoiding mode, image forming operation is inhibited until a detected temperature of an end of a heater 16 is decreased below a reference temperature if a width size of the recording paper used for next image forming operation is wider than that of the recording paper used for previous image forming operation, and the detected temperature of the end of the heater 16 is higher than the reference temperature. In the performance prioritizing mode, the image forming operation is not inhibited and is implemented during the end offset avoiding mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
