Agent prepared by multi-step reaction between C, Al, HCl, Mg, Fe, Ca(OH)2, and a surfactant is used for removing emulsified oils and fats or oily and fatty materials from waste waters with use of anionactive and/or non-ionogenic demulsifiers. - After room temps. treatment the phases are separated into clear- and waste contg. phase, which can be removed by sedimentation, flotation, centrifuging or filtering. Agent is useful in metal working industry, e.g. cutting rolling, extrusion; treating fatty waste waters from cosmetic industry; prepurification of cyanide degreasing baths before decontamination (no HCN is formed).
