A sheet 10 of self-adhesive labels comprises a label layer 12 having a pressure-sensitive adhesive coating 13 releasably bonded to a backing layer 11 e.g. of glassine, the labels 15 being defined by spaced parallel lines in a first direction along which the backing layer is partially severed e.g. to form rows 19 and the label layer is at least partially severed e.g. to form rows 14 and by spaced parallel lines in a second direction at right angles to the first direction along which the label layer is partially severed e.g. to form rows 17. The partial severance may be by perforation. A hole 23 passing through the label layer and the backing layer is provided at each corner of each label. A cog strip 29 having a series of holes 31 punched therein is provided at either edge 28 of the sheet 10 so that the sheet may be fed through a printing machine. |
