PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a luminous intensity higher than the conventional example from a blue light emitting device by using an already existing blue light emitting element. SOLUTION: The blue light emitting element 3 is sealed with a translucent resin 6 containing a blue phosphor 7 which emits blue light upon absorbing ultraviolet rays. From the view point of the source power efficiency, etc., the blue phosphor is preferably at least one phosphor selected from among the group composed of europium-activated halophosphate phosphor, europium- activated aluminate phosphor, and europium-manganese-activated aluminate phosphor. |
