<p>The dyes are of formula:- (in which D is the group of a diazo component carrying at least one substit. of formula -O-CO-NR4R5, R1 is H or opt. substd. alkyl or aryl. R2 is cyano, acyl or opt. substd. alkyl or phenyl, R3 is H, opt. substd. alkyl, aryl or heterocyclic gp., R4 and R5 are H, or opt. substd. alkyl or phenyl, or together with the N atom form part of a ring). No-COOH, -SO3H or protonisable gps. are present. Manufacture is by diazotising an amine D-NH2 and coupling with a substd. pyridone component. They are suitable for dyeing and printing e.g. polyesters, cellulose acetates, polyamides and polyolefins in yellow to red shades.</p> |
