[Also in Division E2] An endless chain conveyer has pivoting supports connected by transverse axles 62c to pairs of rollers 62d which run along the lower flanges of a support beam. Each support has a pair of transverse arms 63, 64 which engage the loops 51, 53 of a cord tie for a bag S. The support has a projection which engages a deflector plate 65 to tilt the support and disengage the loop 51 thus releasing the bag. The beam has a ledge 62f which abuts the upper end of the support to cause it to tilt in the opposite direction to disengage the other loop 53 from the bar 63. Alternatively the cord tie comprises a folded loop through the adjacent end parts of which a rod suspended from a conveyer is passed, the rod having a projection along its length whereby the tie is retained on the rod when the bag is released by disengaging one end part of the loop from the rod by a fork-shaped stripper. |
