The electrodes, used with gaseous or liquid fuels, are prepd. from hollow or solid spheres esp., of glass coated with a catalyst layer e.g., of silver. Either the glass spheres are coated with catalyst and then pressed and/or sintered to a porous esp., isoporous element or these operations are reversed.
