PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a lead oxide varistor where a material having fixed composition is used to control varistor voltage, without affecting the characteristics of an element. SOLUTION: A mixture, that is made of lead oxide (a), a compound oxide (b) of bismuth and antimony and a specific oxide (c), is molded and baked to produce a lead oxide varistor. In this manufacturing method, the varistor voltage of the lead oxide varistor is controlled at fixed baking temperature in the range of 850 to 980 deg.C, and the average particle size of the (b) element is adjusted to be between 0.50 μm and 3.00 μm. |
