Artificial hair comprising (co)polyacrylonitrile fibres are shaped (i. e. 'set') by deforming same, pref. of 20-80 degrees C, under the action of materials which have strong affinity to the fibres forming the 'hair'. Claimed treatment does not adversely affect the gloss of the artificial hair which also remains easily ' combable'. Fibres are not embrittled. Used in mfre. of wigs, Sulphoxides, sulphones, ketones, lactones, formamide and derivs. thereof and/or hexamethylphosphorotriamide are suitable treating agents. |
