PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for simply and efficiently introducing a gene. SOLUTION: This method for increasing the efficiency of gene transfer into target cells with a retrovirus is characterized by infecting the target cells with the retrovirus in the presence of an effective amount of a functional material having a target cell-binding domain and a retrovirus-binding domain originated from a fibroblast-proliferating factor, collagen or polylysine or its functional equivalent on the same molecule.
