<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an animal excrement-treatment material having good absorbing performance and water-holding property against urine excreted by an animal, becoming blocks when coming into contact with urine, excellent in hygiene and subjectable to an incineration treatment, and whose waste is efficiently usable. SOLUTION: The granular animal excrement-treatment material comprises organic wastes and dried matter of tea in an amount of >=0.1 wt.% and formed into granules. A method for manufacturing the granular animal excrement-treatment material is carried out as follows; organic wastes are crushed; the resulting crushed matter is formed into granules in the presence of a concentrate of tea; and the granules are dried. By adding the dried matter of the concentration of tea, burnable wastes such as paper dusts, wastes of sanitary goods, used tea leaves, extraction residue of roasted coffee beans and wood flour of white-cedar leaves or the like, which are generated in large amounts and cause troubles conventionally, can be used as a granular animal excrement-treatment material having water-retaining function and suppressed generation of malodor. Further, the material is wholly constituted of burnable materials, and accordingly, its waste treatment can be carried out easily.</p> |
