An inflation valve for a pneumatic tubeless tyre has a cylindrical body (11) with a screw thread (12) for a valve cap. The bore of the body is tapered over its middle section to form a valve seat (16) leading to a region of reduced diameter (15). The valve spindle (19) has a rubber bush (21) which is pressed onto the seat (16) by the pressure of the air in the tyre. The spindle (19) has a split end (18) which allows it to be pushed through the restricted bore (15) and then retained by the outward springing of the two parts (17) of the retaining head against the shoulder (14) in the valve body. |
