Bundling of tins for use on conveyor system - using prefabricated carriers made from flexible plastics fitted with holders corresponding to tin flanges

The tins are pressed into the carrier (2) offset sideways in the case of a single or multi-row supply. During the pressing in operation taking place one after the other with the aid of stamps pressing against the appropiate tin base forming mandrel(5) are inserted into the spaces remaining between the tins. Carriers, forming mandrel(5) and force plug(6) are moved forwards together with the tins in the direction of conveyor movement. The forming mandrel is introduced to a height of approx. 2/3 of that of each tin into the space.
