<p>Cables of different dias. (22, 23) may need to enter a connector box (21), both cables and box being supported on a flat surface (28). If the entry insulators are axially centrally disposed, the smaller dia. cable may have to be cranked twice to bring it into contact with the surface (28). This is undesirable. Entry insulators, of rubber or flexible plasticc, can be made in the form of an oblique cone having one apex-to-base line at right angles to the base. Sectioning such an insulator in a plane parallel tothe base provides an appropriately shaped entry insulator (26 or 27) to minimise the separation (30 or 29) of the cable from the surface. The base of the cone can be polygonal or oblong. Circumferential ribs can mark the position of the sections to be cut for various cable sizes.</p> |
