The device has two optical fibres cooperating with the film (40) during its passage between supply and take-up reels, for mounting the lateral film perforations (41). A passage is provided defining the trajectory of the film (40) between the two optical fibres with a plate (31) having film guide edges (32,33) parallel to which longitudinal slots (34) extend. These slots (34) can be connected to a source of reduced pressure, to hold the film (40) against the plate (31). Pref. the passage is tangential to the trajectory of the film (40) between the two optical fibres and the longitudinal slots (34) which lie below the trajectory of the film perforations (41).
