PURPOSE:To make the color of the luminescent body of a single tube to be voluntarily varied, by forming several positive segments of a desired pattern by use of color emitting phosphors, and controlling the emission and excitation of each monochromatic phosphor. CONSTITUTION:Positive elctrodes 2a, 2b and 2c are printed on a base plate 1, and the electrodes 2a, 2b and 2c are coated with a red, a green and a blue phosphor 3R, 3G and 3B, respectively. thereby positive segments being formed. Net-like control electrodes 6R, 6G and 6B are placed between the positive segments and a negative filament 5, so that the electrodes 6R, 6G and 6B are located opposite to the positive segment. The phosphors 3R, 3G and 3B of the positive segments are excited with electrons discharged from the negative electrode 5, by controlling the voltage applied to the positive electrodes 2a, 2b, 2c and the control electrodes 6R, 6G, 6B of thus constituted color fluorescent emission tube which is a single tube. Consequently, a multicolor emission can be obtained by voluntarily varying the emission of each monochromatic phosphor. |
