PURPOSE:To obviate the leak due to mist that is produced by the collision of ink droplets against an electrode, by providing two chambers in an insulating case, and securing a charged droplet detecting pin to an outer side wall of the first chamber adjacent the second chamber into which ink droplets are flown. CONSTITUTION:Between the chambers 2, 3 in the insulating case 1 is provided a partition 4 in which a bore 5 is formed, and a bore 7 for introducing ink droplets 6 is formed in the second chamber 3. One end 8' of the electrically conductive charged droplet detecting pin 8 is secured to the outside of the side wall 9 of the first chamber, and the other end 8'' that acts as a charged droplet detecting electrode extends through the bore 5 and is situated at approximately the center of the second chamber 3, and the space between the electrode 8'' of the pin 8 and the side wall 9 is covered with an insulating coat. The top of the first chamber 2 is open, an ink reservoir 15 is located at the lower part of the second chamber 3, and an ink receiver 16 is arranged below the ink reservoir 15. |
