PURPOSE:To manufacture synthesized log wood having excellent cutting property by arranging and clamping block units having many chips in a clamping device arranged with a suitable number of pressing elements of cylindrical shape when moved in a centering direction. CONSTITUTION:Block units 9a-9d formed in the state that chip groups 12 bonded with adhesive to many chips 11 having fiber longitudinally in a space 7 of a clamping device 1 which is composed of supporting frames 3a-3d of L shape in section and pressing elements 6a-6d exhibiting a generally cylindrical shape when reached to the corners of the frames 3a-3d in such a manner that the fiber directions of the most chips 12 are directed in directions except the centering direction of the device 1, are arranged intimately with an adhesive coated on the confronting surfaces. Then, hydraulic cylinders 5a-5d are operated to move the elements 6a-6d in a centering direction to clamp them, thereby aligning the fiber directions of the chips 11 in the centering direction, peripheral direction or their composite directions of the device and hardening the adhesive. |
