PURPOSE:To provide magnetic anisotropy in the breadthwise direction of a magnetic pole, to write and read a signal of high frequency even with a head having narrow magnetic pole width and to crease the density of a track by forming the magnetic pole in such multilayered structure that a diamagnetic body and a ferromagnetic body are laminated successively. CONSTITUTION:A signal magnetic pole head for vertical magnetic recording has one magnetic pole 3 facing a recording medium, and the magnetic pole 3 is wound with a coil 1. The magnetic pole 3 uses ''Permalloy'' and is in four-layer structure wherein an NiFe film 41 as the diamagnetic body of 400Angstrom and an FeMn film 42 as the ferromagnetic body of 100Angstrom are laminated successively four times. This lamination structure is given anisotropy in the breadthwise direction G of the magnetic pole by performing a heat treatment in a magnetic field applied in said breadthwise direction G. Consequently, the anisotropy by the mutual exchanging operation between the diamagnetism and ferromagnetic bodies is given in the breadthwise direction G of the magnetic pole, so the anisotropy in the breadthwise direction is not disordered even when the width of the magnetic pole is narrow, thereby obtaining a head which follows up speedy variation of a magnetic field from a recording medium and is usable even in a high frequency range. |
