PURPOSE:To permit to take out a signal for controlling fuel injection starting timing and obtain a high reliability by a method wherein the output signal of a piezo sensor is obtained when an active core has collided against an adjust bolt. CONSTITUTION:When the active core 19 is attracted by the solenoid 17 and is abutted against the end face of the adjust bolt 21 in the condition of a collision, a shock wave propagates through an adjust bolt cap 24 and is delivered to the piezo element of the piezo sensor 22 while the output signal is generated from the piezo element. The timing of generation of this output signal is the timing of finishing the switching of a spool 9 and, therefore, the output signal is outputted prior to the injection of the fuel with a neglegible time difference.
