PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of a lug caused by Neumann reaction by coating the lug of a negative grid obtained by laminating a synthetic resin plate with a thin lead or lead alloy plate with synthetic resin, lead, or lead alloy. CONSTITUTION:A lamination obtained by laminating thin lead alloy plates 4, 4 on both sides of a thin ABS resin plate 3 is formed in a grid by expanding process. The lug 1 of the negative grid obtained is coated with synthetic resin, lead, or lead alloy, or thickened with lead or lead alloy. A battery using this grid shows the capacity similar to a battery using a lead alloy expanded grid, and further the battery is made lightweight due to the use of the resin plate. |
