According to the invention a brake fluid pressure control device comprises a fluid pressure control valve (20), which is provided in a feed line (A), by means of which a master cylinder (M/C) is flow-connected to wheel cylinders (W/C), a stepped piston (22), which is fitted into the fluid pressure control valve (20) so that it is slideably displaceable and is subjected to pressure in the direction of a stop position by a return spring (24), a fluid pressure chamber (I), formed at the central area of the fluid pressure control valve (20) for the flow connection to the feed line (A), and a counter pressure chamber (II) formed on the opposite side of the stepped piston (22). The hydraulic fluid fed back to the counter pressure chamber (II) at the time of a pressure reduction during an antilock control sequence, is received by the stepped piston (22) and returned through a restrictor area (22b) to the master cylinder (M/C) side, as a result of which any return force acting on the brake pedal (1) is reduced.
