A rotatable sealing device serves to take-up pre-wrapped articles, such as confectionery, and subject the articles to heating and cooling operation to seal the wrappers. The device has an odd number of sets of holding elements (11,11') disposed around the periphery of a rotatable wheel (4) which moves progressively between take-up and delivery locations (U and A). An even number of the sets lies between the locations (A and U) relative to the rotational direction. A camming and gearing arrangement (6, 6', 7, 7', 8, 9, 10, 10') serves to actuate the holding elements of alternate sets of holding elements at the take-up and delivery locations so that articles which are taken-up remain on the wheel (4) for more than one complete rotation to prolong the heating and cooling operations. <IMAGE>
