The drain cock for domestic water pipes has a pref. cylindrical housing (1) on the upward-facing top of which is a screw-lid (4), and on the bottom of which is a valve seating (16) with a through-flow hole (17), a spindle (12) is mounted in the screw-lid (4) so that it can turn coaxially with it for fixing a valve plate (14) against the valve seating (16). The spindle's (12) pivot axle (20) forms an obtuse angle (22) of more than 135 degrees with the longitudinal axis (21) of the connecting pipe (18) which has a thread for screwing the outlet valve to the domestic water pipe. USE/ADVANTAGE - The drain cock is more compact.
