In the case of a workplace with running rails and displaceable and rotatable worktops which are supplemented by narrow edge worktops and are designed with connecting holes in a regular pattern, by adding a minimal, structurally identical number of components and additional parts the function and conversion flexibility is to be further extended, the assembly and production further simplified and at the same time the exterior design made more attractive. To solve this object, the invention provides that, in addition to the open angular corner connectors, solid-wall corner connectors (5', 5'') and attachable additional fittings be constructed and provided, such as shaped edges (10, 10'), servo motors (9) with displacing rods (9') for height adjustment and motor-driven displacement and locking of worktops (4, 4', 4''), and that the solid-wall corner connectors (5', 5'') connect worktops (4, 4', 4'') to drawers and doors, and that double-walled worktops (4, 4', 4'') which are open at the sides and have guided-through wiring and attachable additional parts at the front and rear sides be constructed and combined with the solid-material worktops (4, 4', 4'') of identical contour and dimensions, whole workplace structures thus formed being outwardly closed off by the shaped edges (10, 10') only at the open lateral edges in the boundary regions of the whole workplace.
