The invention relates to a process for the production of dental structures (bridges and crowns) made of metal and coated with a plastic blend, the blend being obtained by applying a composition which can be polymerised to completion at room temperature on exposure to light and initially has a modelable consistency, and a filler-free liquid which can be polymerised to completion, likewise at room temperature on exposure to light, to give a solid, to the structure and subsequently polymerising the mixture to completion. In order that a dispersion layer or lubricating layer does not form on the surface of the blend composition during the polymerisation, the invention proposes placing the structure with coating in a liquid bath having a surface tension which is lower than that of water, instead of carrying out the polymerisation in air, and subsequently carrying out the polymerisation in this liquid by means of light.
