PURPOSE:To obtain an economical and highly accurate train position detector by projecting light beam from a train onto a reflector arranged on a crosstie and detecting the position of the train based on a reflected signal. CONSTITUTION:Light emitted from an LED 4 arranged in a train passes through a lens 5 and a protective glass 6, then it is reflected from a reflector 3 arranged on a crosstie 2 and passes through a protective glass 7 and a lens 8 and received by a photoelectric converting element 9. Received light is converted into an electrical signal which is then fed through a low band filter 10 and a slicer 11 to a differentiator 12 where it is differentiated, then it is passed through a half-wave rectifier 13 to counters 14a, 14b and counted. The counter 14a indicates the total count representing the train position. The counter 14b indicates the count for every clock fed from a timer 16 which represents the train speed. |
