A process for producing a conductive polymer of an aromatic amine for the purpose of forming a dense, good and relatively thick film having a uniform and smooth surface as well as good adhesion strength and film strength, which comprises dissolving or dispersing an aromatic amine compound in a substituted or unsubstituted aromatic sulfonic acid solution and conducting electrolytic oxidative polymerization, said aromatic sulfonic acid having a molecular weight up to 300 and a relatively large ionic radius and being dissolved in a concentration of 0.01 to 5 mol/l.
