PURPOSE:To provide a microbiological deodorizing apparatus decomposing and removing a sulfur-containing offensive smell component such as hydrogen sulfide or methylmercaptan being a main component of malodorous gas. CONSTITUTION:In a microbiological deodorizing apparatus deodorizing sulfur- containing offensive smell gas such as hydrogen sulfide or methylmercaptan, a compost packing material mixed with rice hulls retaining original form and holding bacteria is used. By using compost mixed with rice hulls retaining original form, the deodorizing efficiency of methylmercaptan of sulfur-containing offensive smell gas is especially enhanced and effect not generating the lowering of deodorizing capacity due to the lowering of pressure loss is developed even in the long-term operation of a deodorizing tower.
