<p>A chair lift or a cable car having detachable grips (11) is equipped with a device for measuring the clamping force on the cable (10) by the jaws of the grip under the action of a closing spring. The closing control ramp, which actuates the control lever of the grip, comprises a measuring portion (30) carried by load cells (31).
