A reflector (33-41) reflects back imaged components to ports of coupler. MMI coupler (2) is arranged to input reflected components. The respective lengths of the Michelson waveguides (27-31), which receives and transmits imaged components, are set up such that the MMI coupler combines reflected components so that two successive optical wavelength channels are imaged at different outputs of MMI coupler. An MMI coupler (2) inputs wavelength multiplexed optical signal which are splitted and imaged.
