PURPOSE: To provide a yellow dye donor element for thermal dye transfer consisting of a support with a dye layer formed on the surface containing a yellow dye mixture and displays a hue close to an SWOP color reference under a specific structure of each of yellow dyes. CONSTITUTION: A yellow dye donor element for thermal dye transfer contains a support having a dye layer comprising a mixture of yellow dyes dispersed in a polymer binder, formed on the surface, and contains yellow dyes represented by formulae I, II. In the formula I, R<1> is acyloxy, alkoxy or the like, n is an integer of 0-4; R<2> is H, a substituted or unsubstituted 1-10C alkyl group or the like; Z is cyano, alkoxycarbonyl or the like and; Y is H, hydroxyl or the like. In the formula II, R<3> -R<6> , R<8> , R<9> are a substituted or unsubstituted 1-10C alkyl group or the like; R<7> is a substituted or unsubstituted 1-10C alkoxy group or the like; m is a positive integer of 1-4; and G is a substituted or unsubstituted 1-10C alkyl or alkoxy group, halogen, aryloxy or the like. |
