PURPOSE: To provide a base isolation device which is effective against earthquakes and traffic vibration, and is not adversely affected by usual wind shaking, by interposing a vibration isolation pad between a base isolation structural body mounted onto a foundation and a surface plate with projections, which is mounted to an upper plate. CONSTITUTION: Stiffened hard plates 1 and soft plates 2 provided with viscoelasticity are alternately laminated in multiple layers between a lower surface plate 4 and an upper surface plate 3, so that a base isolation structural body is thereby made up. A projection opposite face plate 7 which has projections positioned at the outer side in the diametrical direction out of the upper surface plate 3 of the base isolation structural body, is provided. And the base isolation structural body and the projection opposite face plate 7 are interposed between a foundation 9 and an upper plate 10, the lower surface plate 4 of the base isolation structural body is mounted to the foundation 9, and the projection opposite face plate 7 is mounted to the upper plate 10. And furthermore, a vibration isolation pad 5 having visco elastic properties is interposed between the base isolation structural body and the projection opposite face plate 7. |
