PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute exact image stabilization regulation while minimizing the consumption of toners with an image forming device which is capable of switching a monochromatic mode and a color mode. SOLUTION: If the time for the image stabilization regulation comes when setting the monochromatic mode, the number M of image formation times in the monochromatic mode before the next execution of the color mode and the threshold N for determining the time for the image stabilization regulation are first compared (S401). In the case of M<=N, the image formation in the color mode is eventually executed before the time for the next image stabilization regulation and therefore a flag F=1 is previously set in order to execute the image stabilization regulation of colors (S405). In the case of N<M, the flag F=1 is set and the electrostatic charging state of toners for colors is beforehand restored only when the number L of image formation times in the monochromatic mode after the previous image formation (including the formation of reference patterns for image stabilization regulation) in the color mode is greater than a prescribed value P (Yes in S402 and No in S403). |
