摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a formation failure inside a mouth part by applying light from a light source at the oblique, upper part of the mouth part to the mouth part while rotating a glass bottle around a bottle axis, receiving reflected light by a light receiver, and detecting the quantity of light reflected from the mouth part top inner surface out of the received light. SOLUTION: A light source 13 is installed near a depression angle ofα=30 degrees and light is focused inside a mouth part 10 of a glass bottle 3. Light from the light source 13 is reflected by the inside of the mouth part 10, and reflection light is received by a line sensor camera 15. The received light is sent to a camera signal-processing circuit 17 and the signal is converted to a digital signal and is retained. Data correspond to at least one circle of the glass bottle 3. The quantity of reflection light on the top inner surface inside the mouth part 10 is the largest. In the other cases, only when there is a failure such as defect, reflection light is received by the line sensor camera 15. And, no reflection light is received when there is no failure. The camera signal- processing circuit 17 recognizes the top inner surface of the mouth part 10 at each scan in the scanning direction of the camera 15 and at the same time recognizes reflection light from a location where the defect exists.
