PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester film excellent in can production processability, such as deep drawability, after laminated to a metal plate, excellent in heat resistance, impact resistance, corrosion resistance, and especially excellent in taste and smell retainability after subjected to retort treatment. SOLUTION: This polyester film for laminating and processing to metal plates comprises a copolyester having a melting point of 210-245 deg.C and a Tg of >=78 deg.C, contains ethylene terephthalate units as main repeating units, and satisfies the inequality: 0.6<=F40/F120<=0.8 [F40 is a tensile stress (kg/mm<2> ) at an elongation of 40% in the longitudinal direction of the film at 100 deg.C; F120 is a tensile stress (kg/mm<2> ) at an elongation of 120 deg.C in the longitudinal direction of the film at 100 deg.C]. The copolymerization component is preferably a naphthalene dicarboxylic acid. |
