PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the vibration of a movable separating membrane at the time of break of a bubble, to obtain a stable discharge, to facilitate also supply of a liquid and to improve a characteristic of refilling, by suppressing the retrogression of a meniscus by a regulating member in relation to the displacement of the movable separating membrane corresponding to the growth and contraction of the bubble. SOLUTION: A first liquid passage 3 communicating with a discharge orifice 11 and a second liquid passage 4 having a bubble producing region 30 are separated from each other by a movable separating membrane 5. A movable member 26 is provided so that it faces a heater 2 and the free end 28 thereof is positioned just above the discharge orifice side end of the heater 2 with the movable separating membrane 5 between them. When the heater 2 produces a bubble 40, the free end 28 of the movable member 26 is displaced in a large degree and also the movable separating membrane 5 expands to a large extent to the discharge orifice 11 side. Thereby discharge efficiency is improved. In a process of contraction and break of the bubble 40, the movable separating membrane 5 and the movable member 26 separate from each other and a liquid 150 comes to be present between them and draws in a meniscus 141 to a large extent. The liquid 150 functions as a damper or a cushion and thereby the spring vibration caused by the movable separating membrane 5 can be damped more speedily. |
