PURPOSE: An air conditioner coolant volume adjusting device is provided to maintain constant room temperature and save energy. CONSTITUTION: The airconditioner coolant volume adjusting device comprises; an evaporator(16) to evaporate coolant; a by-pass line(14) to connect the 1st line(L1) sending the coolant compressed in the compressor(10) to the condenser(12) with the 3rd line(L3) returning the coolant evaporated in the evaporator(16) to the compressor(10); a coolant tank to store the coolant flowing in from the 1st line(L1) through the by-pass line(L4) and providing the stored coolant to the 3rd line(L3) through the by-pass line(L3); an one-way valve(22) installed in the by-pass line(L4) connecting the coolant tank(20) and the 3rd line(L3) to discharge the coolant stored in the coolant tank(20) the 3rd line(L3).
